The Grossglockner High Alpine Road connects the states of Salzburg and Carinthia from north to south via the Hohe Tauern mountain range. It runs from Zell am See in Salzburg across the Alps to Heiligenblut in Carinthia and is rightly described as the “dream road of the Alps.”
The crowning finale of the Grossglockner High Alpine Road is the Kaiser Franz-Josefs-Höhe. Visitors are treated to a breathtaking view of glaciers and mountain peaks, as well as alpine flora and fauna.

In addition to the numerous hiking trails that start right from the visitor parking lots, exhibitions, the Swarovski observation deck, the glacier cable car to the Pasterze, and the shops, our three restaurants Kaiser Franz Josef Haus, Glacier Restaurant and the Panorama Restaurant enrich the tourist experience.
Eleven rest and discovery points have been set up along the road, providing visitors with an overview and insight into the high-mountain world of the Alps.
